Malvern, PA – February 7, 2019 – Cenero, a leader in audio visual, unified communications and IT solutions, today announced it is celebrating its 20th anniversary in business.
“I am proud of the extraordinary growth Cenero has experienced over the past 20 years,” said Chris Henry, CEO of Cenero. “Our company has grown from a small start up to a leader in the industry. Cenero is committed to providing superior AV solutions that empower communications and it is because of this strong commitment that our company has enjoyed consistent 30% year-over-year revenue growth since we were founded in 1999.”
Cenero has been recognized as a fastest-growing company by Inc. 5000 and Commercial Integrator and was ranked number 20 on the list of top systems integrators in the U.S. by Systems Contractor News. “At Cenero, we are different by design,” continued Henry. “While we create and integrate intelligent collaborative solutions, we also provide comprehensive managed services to support the AV technology. It is our suite of managed services that has allowed us to remain successful, expand to new offices and support clients on a global basis.”
Cenero’s suite of managed services, Constant Connect, is the only managed service that can remotely monitor, test and repair all meeting room technology. This provides clients with peace of mind that all critical spaces will be fully functional at all times. Not only does Constant Connect provide proactive support, but it also includes 24-hour on-demand support during meetings, on-site support and detailed analytics on room usage and user trends to help companies make more informed business decisions.
“It’s the ability to provide useful data on how people are interacting with the technology that our clients really see as valuable,” said Rob Gilfillan, President of Cenero. “We endeavor to think differently to how we approach our partnerships with clients, first understanding how they use technology to connect and collaborate and then developing tools that will improve the way people interact and communicate. We focus not just on technology, but the entire meeting lifecycle with an overall goal of creating extraordinary meeting and collaborative experiences.”
Cenero was founded in March 1999 and was originally named ConnectSound. Although the company’s initial goal was to be a software solutions provider to AV integrators, the start-up team led by Chris Henry and Rob Gilfillan soon decided to switch focus and become their target customer. They could utilize the software they designed to standardize processes and create more efficient and accurate designs, creating a unique approach that would stand out in the fragmented and unorganized landscape of AV integrators. The company was rebranded as Cenero and their unique perspective remains one of the main reasons why they are now a leading industry influencer.
“The real reason behind our success is the amazing team at Cenero, everyone is truly dedicated to providing exceptional AV solutions to our clients,” said Henry. “Our employees exemplify our Core Values and it is because of their passion, motivation, integrity and expertise that we are able to celebrate this 20 year milestone.”

Malvern, PA – November 26, 2018 – Cenero, a leader in audio visual, unified communications and IT solutions, today announced it was included in the list of top 50 systems integrators by Systems Contractor News.
The list details integration firms who have generated top revenue in commercial AV installations in 2018. Cenero moved up 11 spots from last year, ranking number 20 on the list.
“We are celebrating another year of growth at Cenero and are excited to be ranked in the top 20 of this list of leaders in the industry,” said Rob Gilfillan, President of Cenero. “As we continue to grow and expand our footprint, we remain committed to delivering exceptional meeting experiences to our clients. It is due to this commitment to delivering superior solutions that Cenero’s recent work on a large-scale video wall at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport was also recognized by Systems Contractor News as one of their 2018’s Installs of the Year. The 140-feet long video wall features digital artwork that fuses technology, art and design to create an immersive traveler experience.
About Cenero
Cenero is a service focused audio visual, unified communications and IT solutions provider. Cenero provides systems design installation, managed services, cloud-based video solutions and event services for companies throughout North America.
Video wall technology is profoundly transforming the modern travel experience, turning traditional wait times into times of engagement at forward-looking airports around the world — most recently at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, which just completed a $200-million renovation and expansion of its Concourse A. The nine-gate, 229,807-square foot addition is the first completed project under the Destination CLT initiative, a $2.5 billion capital investment program to renovate the concourses and expand CLT’s roadways, curb front, airfield and terminal.
The Concourse A expansion features video walls from NanoLumens®, award-winning creators of uniquely compelling LED visualization solutions in any size, shape, or curvature — and renown digital artist Refik Anadol’s unique “data sculptures” that turn the airport’s invisible patterns of data into captivating and ever-changing content featured on the three displays. This alluring installation, dubbed “Interconnected,” is a part of a total commitment by the airport to reimagine modern travel through the eyes of compelling and immersive digital experiences.
Frank Milesky of Cenero, the integration firm who from the beginning approached the video wall installation as a fusion of technology, art, and design, explained that, “The goal here was to seamlessly integrate digital artwork that reflects the movement and traffic of the airport, essentially the airport’s data culture, into the architecture of the new concourse,” Milesky explained. “This install isn’t merely about displaying content, it’s about changing the entire passenger experience at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.”
The centerpiece video wall for Interconnected sits inside the airport’s Concourse A and stretches 140-feet wide by 10-feet high. One challenge for Cenero was making sure a screen this large would display a seamless image without bezels and also handle all daytime ambient light coming in through the concourse’s many windows.
“The main display is huge, and because it is visible both inside and outside the airport the high brightness quality of the NanoLumens displays was essential here,” Cenero added. “NanoLumens was actually the perfect solution for this particular high-definition digital art content as the image quality is brilliant and seamless and it truly needed to be for the nature of the artwork.”
Cenero installed two additional displays in oddly shaped corners in the gates located at the end of Concourse A that are also visible both inside and outside the airport. The trapezoid-shaped displays measure approximately 28×15-feet in one corner and 40×19-feet in the other corner. Each of these displays also run 24-hours a day and are synchronized with the larger concourse display as each has its own distinct visual chapter.
The continuing trend of audio visual video wall technology turning the time spent at airports into a memorable part of the overall travel experience is on display in a new and exciting way at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
“This video wall installation is grabbing travelers’ attention before they even enter the airport as it is clearly visible from the parking garage and street across from the new concourse,” added NanoLumens Southeast Regional Sales Director, Arch Nelson. “We have clearly moved beyond the days of what static signage can do and this project is a perfect marriage of Refik’s amazing digital artwork and the state-of-the-art display technology from NanoLumens.”
For the over 44-million travelers that move through Charlotte Douglas International Airport annually, Refik’s Interconnected will surely leave a lasting impression.
As for the artist himself, Refik added, “The artwork being displayed is constantly changing and evolving as it responds to the ever-changing flow of data, creating a living snapshot of the invisible patterns that surrounds us as we travel to, from, and within Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
